In his return from a four-game absence Sunday against the Jets, Brown was targeted 10 times but hauled in only three of them for 27 yards. It appears he's still bothered by his previous right ankle sprain, as evidenced by a capped walkthrough Monday, but he still has two more chances to get back to full this week before potentially being tagged with a designation for Thursday's contest at Chicago.

Assuming Brown is officially cleared when the Patriots release their inactive list 90 minutes prior to the 1 p. m. ET kickoff, he'll suit up for the first time since the season opener, when his team debut came to an early end after he sustained a right high-ankle sprain. Following a four-week absence, Brown made his return to practice Wednesday and was a limited participant for three straight sessions before being activated from injured reserve Saturday. Though the Patriots could monitor his playing time to some extent, Brown sounds like he's on track to handle something close to a starter-level snap count.

Even though he's still questionable, the fact that Brown was activated from IR indicates that the veteran wide receiver will be on the field for Sunday's AFC East showdown. Brown has fully recovered from a right high-ankle sprain that he sustained Week 1 against the Seahawks, and he should settle in as quarterback Drake Maye's top target in the passing game.
