A neck injury limited Johnson's practice participation Wednesday and Thursday, but he was a DNP for Friday's session before being subsequently ruled out for Sunday's contest. In his absence, Chris Manhertz and Thomas Fidone are candidates to step into the TE2 role behind Isaiah Likely. Johnson's next chance to play is Week 7 against the Texans on Sunday, Oct. 25.

Johnson caught two of three passes for 35 yards during the Giants' 27-27 tie against the Commanders in Week 5, but he may have tweaked his neck at some point during the game. He would avoid an injury tag for Sunday's contest against the Saints if he can log a full practice in one of the next two days.
