The Miami Dolphins had a much needed bye week this past weekend. Multiple players have been banged up, including standout rookie receiver Caleb Douglas. It seems the added rest has been a good thing for the young pass catcher, as according to head coach Jeff Hafley, Douglas has a chance to suit up against the […]

Following their Week 6 bye, the Dolphins won't submit their first Week 7 injury report until Wednesday, but Douglas looks poised to be listed as something other than a non-participant in practice for the first time since injuring his ankle in a Sept. 20 loss to the 49ers. Given the length of his absence, Douglas will likely need to practice fully by the end of the week to have a good shot at suiting up Sunday versus the Jets, but if available, he could immediately reclaim a prominent role in the Miami passing corps. In his first two NFL contests, the rookie third-round pick notched seven receptions for 113 yards on 10 targets.

Even though they're on bye for Week 6, the Dolphins held an informal session Tuesday. Douglas didn't look to be mixing into drills with his healthy teammates, which has been the trend since he injured his ankle in a Week 2 loss to the 49ers. The rookie wideout will look to take advantage of the bye week with the hope of making enough progress in his recovery to potentially resume practicing with the Dolphins when the team kicks off Week 7 prep next Wednesday.
