Henderson has gone from likely to miss multiple games to having a chance to play just one week removed from suffering an apparent right high-ankle sprain last Sunday against the Raiders. Via the running back himself Friday, he is "hoping to play" in Week 6, per Doug Kyed of the Boston Herald, but Henderson likely will be subject to a pregame workout Sunday before a decision is made ahead of the Patriots dropping their inactive list at 11:30 a. m. ET. If Henderson is active, he'll join Rhamondre Stevenson and Corey Kiner out of the Patriots backfield, though in what capacity remains to be seen.
Injury / practice
It was reported earlier in the week that Henderson was facing a multi-week absence due to a high-ankle sprain, and while he was indeed diagnosed with the more severe ankle issue, he was able to practice this week and will have a chance to take the field in Week 6.
Injury / practice
After opening Week 6 prep with back-to-back limited sessions, Henderson is participating for a third straight day. Reports earlier this week suggested he would miss multiple games, but it now appears he has a chance to avoid any absences altogether. New England's final injury report will provide a better idea of where Henderson stands ahead of Sunday's matchup with the Jets.
Reporter
Henderson has been limited in back-to-back practice sessions to kick off Week 6 prep. He'll likely need to upgrade to full participation Friday to avoid carrying an injury designation into Sunday's home game against the Jets, in which second place in the AFC East will be on the line. Corey Kiner would be in line for change-of-pace work behind Rhamondre Stevenson if Henderson sits.
Injury / practice
Henderson was a limited participant at Wednesday's practice, and he looks poised to practice in some capacity again Thursday, though the extent of his participation remains to bee seen. After initial pessimism following his exit from the Week 5 win over the Raiders, Henderson seemingly has a chance to suit up Sunday against the Jets without missing any additional game action.
Injury / practice
After Henderson was diagnosed with a right high-ankle sprain coming out of Sunday's win over the Raiders, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported Tuesday that the second-year running back would avoid surgery but was expected to miss multiple weeks. While that could still be the case, Henderson's involvement in practice Wednesday -- albeit in a limited capacity -- suggests that the Patriots haven't yet ruled him out from playing Week 6 against the Jets. However, in the more likely event that Henderson ends up sitting out this Sunday, Rhamondre Stevenson would be in store for a larger share of the touches out of the backfield, while Corey Kiner would serve as the top complement to Stevenson.
Injury / practice
Henderson's absence hardly comes as a surprise after Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that the running back is likely to miss multiple weeks after sustaining a right high-ankle sprain during this past Sunday's win over the Raiders. Head coach Mike Vrabel has yet to provide an updated timeline for Henderson's return, but the 23-year-old is expected to be officially ruled out for this Sunday's game against the Jets following Friday's practice.
Injury / practice
Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson is expected to miss multiple weeks because of a high ankle sprain, sources told ESPN.
